Cinamon Secures KRW 11B (US$7.61M) for AI Video Expansion
Seoul, South Korea - AI video startup Cinamon secured KRW 11 billion (US$7.61 million) in new funding from Altos Ventures and Saehan Venture Capital.
The investment follows Cinamon's previous funding round in 2022, with Altos Ventures participating as a returning investor.
Cinamon develops CINEV, an AI-powered 3D video creation solution that converts user-input stories into video content by generating 3D environments with AI-controlled elements.
The platform implements a hybrid approach combining AI and 3D technology.
It constructs physical 3D spaces before adding individual components such as characters, actions, lighting, and camera movements.
The company states that CINEV differs from standard generative AI video services by maintaining consistency through 3D asset-based technology while providing users control over editing and directorial elements.
Founded in 2019, Cinamon employs approximately 60 AI and game graphics development specialists.
The company plans to launch CINEV in global markets during the first half of 2025.
In 2022, the startup received investment from Naver affiliates, including Naver Webtoon, Snow, Naver Z, and Krafton.
Cinamon joined the NVIDIA Inception program in August 2024.
