Coupang Play Wins NBA Exclusive Korea Rights 2025-26
SEOUL, South Korea - Coupang Play announced on Thursday that it has signed a multi-year agreement with the National Basketball Association to exclusively broadcast NBA games in Korea, starting with the 2025-26 season.
The streaming service will broadcast at least seven NBA regular-season games per week in Korean, the company said.
Coverage will include playoff games, conference finals, the NBA All-Star Game, and the NBA Finals.
Content will be available through Coupang Play's "Sports Pass" add-on service.
The company said it will produce preview and review programming around game broadcasts.
"Coupang Play is an ideal partner to strengthen the NBA's presence in Korea further," Wayne Chang, NBA Asia Director, said in the company's statement. Chang said the partnership will provide Korean viewers with an NBA live service and strengthen connections with Korean fans.
Coupang Play CEO Kim Sung-han stated that the agreement was significant, given the NBA's status as a global sports league and cultural icon. Kim said the company will continue providing sports broadcasting and content.
Coupang Play currently broadcasts K League 1, K League 2, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, EFL Championship, EFL League One, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Community Shield.
The platform also carries Formula 1, NASCAR, NFL, LIV Golf, PGA Championship and One Championship.
The company said it will begin FIFA Club World Cup coverage on June 15 and add Premier League broadcasting with the 2025-26 season.
Sports content is available through the Sports Pass subscription service.
The company did not disclose the financial terms of the NBA agreement.
