Hyundai Unveils IONIQ 9, Its First Large Electric SUV
Seoul, South Korea- Hyundai Motor Company (005380. KS) revealed teaser images of its new IONIQ 9 three-row electric SUV on Wednesday, marking its entry into the large EV segment.
The vehicle, built on Hyundai's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), features an 'Aerosthetic' design blending aerodynamic efficiency with boat-inspired aesthetics.
According to the company, key features include Parametric Pixel lighting, Korean Hanbok-inspired character lines, and multi-spoke wheels.
Hyundai will release teaser content through social channels starting on October 30, leading to the World Premiere in November.
The launch follows Hyundai's production milestone of 100 million vehicles, with its 100-million-and-first unit being an electric vehicle.
The IONIQ 9 joins existing models IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, as Hyundai targets 2 million EV sales by 2030.
