Kia and LG Partner on AI-Powered Mobile Work & Leisure Vehicles

Seoul, South Korea - Kia Corporation and LG Electronics signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday to collaborate on mobility space solutions based on Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicles (PBV) technology, the companies announced.

The agreement was signed at the Kia pavilion at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show in Goyang, South Korea. 

The companies unveiled two concept models integrating LG's home appliances into Kia's PBV platforms. They plan to launch the products commercially in the second half of 2026.

The partnership aims to combine Kia's PBV technology with LG's expertise in AI solutions to offer customized vehicle interiors that can be transformed into personalized offices, studios, or lounges.

The two concept models, branded "Spielraum" (German for "play space"), will be on display at the Seoul Mobility Show, which will take place from April 4 to 13 at KINTEX in Goyang.

The PV5 Spielraum Studio concept focuses on solo entrepreneurs who travel frequently. 

It features LG's AI-powered home appliances, including modular Stylers, smart mirrors, and coffee machines integrated into the PV5's interior. 

The AI system can monitor the user's business schedule, calculate remaining travel time, and recommend appliance settings accordingly.

The PV5 Spielraum Glow cabin concept features refrigerators, lightwave ovens, and wine cellars, catering to outdoor leisure activities. 

Each appliance features MoodUP panels that adjust color based on user preferences.

According to Kia, these concepts represent a shift toward vehicles serving as personalized spaces for living and working rather than merely transportation.
