KREAM Beauty Category Surges 66% in Early 2025, Consignment Sales Soar
Seoul, South Korea—Limited-edition marketplace KREAM recorded a 66% increase in beauty category transactions in January and February 2025 compared to last year.
The platform's consignment sales service performed exceptionally well, with transaction volume growing approximately 37-fold (3,630%) yearly.
KREAM began offering consumer-to-consumer services for premium fragrances and select cosmetic brands in the third quarter of 2022.
In late 2023, the company expanded its operations by allowing business sellers to trade across all categories, including beauty products.
The growth coincides with KREAM's specialized policies for beauty product sellers.
The company offers complete warehouse storage options for all beauty products and applies the lowest seller commission rate, 3.5%, regardless of seller status.
Beauty category sellers also receive exemptions from basic fees.
According to the company, the warehouse storage policy has reduced sellers' inventory management burdens and improved operational efficiency, making the platform attractive to beauty businesses.
KREAM has primarily built its market presence among consumers in their twenties and thirties who show high sensitivity to trends and willingness to purchase exclusive products.
This customer base has supported the platform's expansion beyond fashion into tickets, technology, and other lifestyle categories.
