KT Adds Auto-Termination Feature to Protect Staff from Verbal Abuse
Seoul, South Korea - KT Corporation (NYSE: KT) has added new protection features to its "KT Call Manager" service. These features automatically terminate calls after warnings when verbal abuse occurs, or conversations become excessively long.
The service uses AI technology to manage landline phone operations through PC and mobile applications.
The new functionality operates with software installation alone, requiring no specialized telephone equipment.
Public institutions, including the National Assembly, Constitutional Court, government ministries, local governments, and educational institutions, can implement the system without initial costs.
The enhancements follow government amendments to the Civil Petition Treatment Act in July 2022 and October 2024, which mandated protective features for administrative phones in public institutions.
Additional features include automated pre-call notifications about recording and possible termination, automatic call recording, and number masking when officials use personal mobile phones.
The system also converts speech to text, summarizes content, and provides search capabilities.
