KT CEO Kim Young-seop Appointed to GSMA Global Board Until 2026
Seoul, South Korea - KT Corp (NYSE: KT) CEO Young-Shub Kim has been appointed to the GSM Association (GSMA) board of directors, the South Korean telecommunications company announced on Sunday.
Kim will serve a two-year term until December 31, 2026, joining executives from global telecommunications leaders, including AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone Group, and Telefonica, on the industry body's highest decision-making board.
The appointment follows Kim's active involvement in GSMA leadership initiatives and KT's role as host sponsor of M360 APAC for two consecutive years.
The company has been a GSMA member since 2003.
GSMA Secretary General Mats Granryd welcomed the appointment, citing KT's successful integration of telecommunications and AI technologies.
"KT has demonstrated innovative achievements through the successful convergence of telecommunications and AI," Granryd said.
Kim recently delivered a keynote speech at GSMA M360 APAC in Seoul, addressing the role of AICT (AI + ICT) companies in developing collaborative sovereign AI models.
