KT Enhances Mobile Network with AI-Driven Predictive Analytics

Seoul, South Korea - KT Corporation (NYSE: KT) announced on Thursday the deployment of an artificial intelligence system designed to preemptively identify and resolve mobile network quality issues before customers experience service disruptions.

The telecommunications provider's new system analyzes mobile network quality metrics, including response times and signal strength, using deep learning and machine learning algorithms such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to predict potential service anomalies.

When the AI system detects warning signs of network deterioration, it alerts KT's customer service center, which then verifies whether affected customers are experiencing connectivity issues.

If problems are confirmed, technical engineers are dispatched to inspect and replace network equipment as necessary.

KT stated that this proactive approach has reduced potential customer complaints by approximately 60% by addressing network issues before customers need to report them.

The company processes communication data from 13 million mobile customers daily to support the system while excluding personal information from analysis.

KT plans to enhance its AI models using Microsoft's AX infrastructure and expand the predictive quality management system to include its internet and IPTV services in the second half of 2025.

The system specifically targets subtle service degradations and signal weaknesses caused by weather events that might otherwise go unreported until they become more severe problems for customers.
