LG Unveils All-in-One Vehicle Controller with Qualcomm Technology
Las Vegas, NV - LG Electronics has developed a new Cross-Domain Controller (xDC) platform that integrates vehicle infotainment and driver assistance systems into a single-chip solution.
The platform, created in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., will debut at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.
The xDC platform utilizes Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon Ride Flex System-on-Chip (SoC) to combine In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) functionalities.
This integration addresses the increasing complexity of modern vehicle computing systems while reducing component costs through consolidation.
The platform's central feature includes an "ADAS confidence view" that merges three-dimensional and two-dimensional graphics to enhance driver awareness.
The system displays critical safety information on the main vehicle screen, including forward vehicle distance alerts and lane departure warnings.
Additional features include real-time traffic updates with alternative routing options.
The Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC has obtained Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL)-D certification, meeting international safety standards for critical vehicle operations.
The system processes IVI and ADAS data simultaneously, enabling efficient management of multiple vehicle functions, including navigation and safety systems.
LG and Qualcomm Technologies will demonstrate the xDC platform at their private showcases during CES 2025, scheduled for January 7-10.
