LINE Yahoo Launches AI Chat to Cut Store Support by 30%

Tokyo, Japan—LINE Yahoo Corporation launched an AI-powered chatbot on Wednesday to assist merchants on its Yahoo Shopping and Yahoo Auction platforms.

The company aims to reduce customer service inquiries by 30%.

The "Store Creator Pro AI Chat" service integrates OpenAI's API and Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Sonnet language model through Amazon Web Services' Amazon Bedrock platform.

The company developed the service after identifying that nearly one-third of merchant inquiries could be resolved through existing documentation, including tool manuals and FAQ pages.

The AI chatbot responds to questions about store operations and tool usage, specifically addressing queries related to Store Creator Pro and Store Editor functionalities.

The service excludes inquiries about campaigns, advertising products, and event information.

The system is accessible to all registered store owners through the "Ask a Question" feature on the Store Creator Pro homepage.

LINE Yahoo stated that the AI-generated responses operate under the company's terms of use agreement, noting that response reliability and accuracy are not guaranteed.
