Naver Map Launches Driving Score: Safety Meets Savings

Seoul, South Korea—Naver Corp announced (035420. KS) that it is introducing a new "driving score" feature in its map application.

The feature analyzes users' driving habits based on navigation data, providing a score out of 100.

The driving score considers factors such as speeding distance and sudden acceleration or deceleration frequency.

Naver aims to encourage safer driving habits through this feature by giving scores.

A detailed driving analysis page will display score trends, average user scores, and total driving time and distance.

The update also enhances the existing trip log function, showing specific areas of speeding and sudden movements.

Naver has partnered with DB Insurance to offer discounted car insurance rates based on driving scores.

Users with scores above 71 and a minimum 500km driving record in the past six months will be eligible for the "Naver Map Safe Driving Discount."

The head of Naver Map stated in its press release that the company will continue collaborating with DB Insurance to provide more benefits to users.

Naver plans to run a promotional event in July, offering Naver Pay points to randomly selected users who check their driving scores.
