NaverPay Expands to 3.2M Japanese Stores via Alipay+ & PayPay

SEOUL, South Korea - Naver Pay has expanded its QR payment acceptance network to 3.2 million merchant locations in Japan through a partnership between Alipay+ and PayPay.

Effective November 11, the service will be operational at merchants displaying Alipay+ or PayPay logos. 

The network includes establishments in Fukuoka, Osaka, and Sapporo.

The payment service currently operates in 65 countries. Users can conduct transactions using NaverPay balance and points without incurring currency conversion fees. 

The service includes standard features such as point accumulation and stamp collection.

NaverPay is implementing a promotional campaign through December 2024, offering 10% cashback on overseas payments and travel insurance purchases, with a maximum refund of 30,000 won per transaction.

Additional features include a travel planning function providing information about available service benefits. 

The payment network operates through existing Alipay+ and PayPay infrastructure in Japan.
