NAVER's AI Shopping App Reports Strong Initial Performance Data

Seoul, South Korea—NAVER Corporation announced in a statement today that it launched its "NAVER Plus Store" AI shopping application last month for Android and iOS devices.

The company claims the new application, which incorporates AI recommendations throughout the shopping process, has shown positive initial metrics since its release on March 12 for Android and March 19 for iOS.

According to figures provided by NAVER, the app's transaction rates through AI recommendation and exploration features are 20 percentage points higher than those of the main NAVER app.

The company reported that 30% of brand stores on the platform currently issue first-purchase coupons, while 20% provide repurchase coupons.

NAVER reported that registrations for its "Lounge Membership" program increased 382% in March compared to the same month last year, though specific user numbers were not disclosed.

NAVER said that in March, average transaction values increased by 33% for sellers using customer relationship management tools compared to the previous year.

The company cited two examples in its statement: Binggrae reportedly doubled its transaction value two weeks following the app launch, while Daejoo Pet Food registered a 31-fold increase in transactions during the third and fourth weeks of March compared to March 2024.

The company also stated that the value of its "NAVER Delivery" service transaction approximately doubled in March compared to the same month last year.

NAVER announced it will cap delivery solution usage fees at KRW 5,000 per product order starting May 1.

"Initial service usability and growth rates are exceeding our internal targets," NAVER CEO Soo-Yeon Choi said.

According to the company, NAVER Delivery provides same-day, next-day, and preferred-date delivery options.

NAVER Plus membership subscribers receive free shipping on orders over KRW 10,000 and one free exchange or return per order.
