Rakuten Expands European Footprint with New Paris Tech Center

Paris, France - Rakuten Group has opened a technology center in Paris.

The facility, named "Rakuten Tech Center Europe," began operations on April 1 and has over 50 employees working in areas such as artificial intelligence, data center operations, cloud computing, and platform development.

The Paris location houses staff from Rakuten's AI research division and shares space with Rakuten France, which manages the company's French e-commerce operations.

Zoran Stajic, who heads the new center, said it would focus on technical development and regional engineering coordination.

According to the company statement, the center is located at 92 Rue de Reaumur in Paris's 2nd arrondissement.

Rakuten established a technical division in Paris in 2012 and maintains operations across several European countries.

Leadership includes executive officer Naojiro Hisada, center president Zoran Stajic, company fellow Fergal Downey, and regional legal manager Kieran Lynch.
