SK Telecom Forms AI Data Center Alliance with Industry Partners
Las Vegas, NV - SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM) entered a collaboration agreement with SK hynix and Penguin Solutions (NASDAQ: PENG) for artificial intelligence data center solutions development.
The signing occurred at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Company executives present included SK Telecom CEO Ryu Young-sang, SK hynix AI Infrastructure President Justin Kim, and Penguin Solutions CEO Mark Adams.
The agreement follows SK Telecom's $200 million investment in Penguin Solutions in July 2024. Subsequently, a task force was established between the three companies.
The collaboration encompasses business expansion in Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets.
The agreement includes the development of full-stack software solutions for artificial intelligence data centers.
SK hynix and Penguin Solutions will collaborate on data center memory technology development.
According to Ryu Young-sang, the agreement will integrate SK Group's semiconductor, energy, cooling, and memory technologies.
SK Hynix identified power efficiency and heat dissipation as primary focus areas for development.
Through the partnership, Penguin Solutions plans to expand its artificial intelligence solution capabilities.
