SK Telecom Launches GPU Cloud Service for AI Development
Seoul, South Korea - SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM) launched its GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) cloud platform at its AI Data Center in Gasan, Seoul, marking its entry into the artificial intelligence infrastructure market.
The telecommunications company partnered with Lambda, a GPU cloud company, through investment to secure GPU supplies and technical expertise.
The platform enables businesses to select GPU quantities and usage durations based on their AI service requirements.
Customizable packages include standalone servers, firewalls, and dedicated lines.
The service implements flexible pricing determined by contract period, GPU quantity, and prepaid billing arrangements.
SK Telecom's AI Cloud Manager, launched in October 2024, integrates with the platform to consolidate GPU resources into a single computing system, enhancing performance and reducing AI development time.
The service currently operates on NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs, with plans to incorporate NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs in the first quarter of 2025.
