SoftBank Introduces Perplexity Enterprise Pro to Japanese Firms

Tokyo, Japan—SoftBank Corp. began selling Perplexity Enterprise Pro to corporate customers in Japan this month, marking its entry as the first official reseller of the AI answer engine in the country.

The company started offering the business-focused version of Perplexity in March 2025, building on the strategic partnership established with Perplexity AI, Inc. in June 2024.

Perplexity provides services in the web environment and as a mobile app.

This search engine is well known for its AI answer engine.

It displays search results based on online information and provides citations.

In particular, SoftBank's Enterprise Pro version offers in-depth research functions for accessing professional information and file-uploading functions for document analysis.

It also restricts some domains from providing reliable information.

Security features include SOC2 certification and single sign-on support, addressing corporate security requirements.

The platform automatically deletes search data and uploaded files after seven days and does not use customer data for AI model training.

The enterprise user product allows for unlimited searches of complex queries.

It also provides a space feature that allows enterprise users to share real-time information among team members.

This product supports integration with internal enterprise data sources.

It features a hybrid search that allows for the integrated search of information across the Internet and internal enterprise documents.

SoftBank had previously offered individual customers a one-year free trial of the consumer version, Perplexity Pro, as part of its initial partnership agreement.
