Toss Reports First Quarterly Profit Amid Record Revenue Growth
Seoul, South Korea - South Korean fintech Unicorn Viva Republica, operator of the Toss, reported its first-ever quarterly profit alongside record revenue in the third quarter, driven by solid growth across its service platform.
The company posted an operating profit of KRW 10.9 billion (US$7.7 million) and net profit of KRW 3.9 billion (US$2.8 million) in the quarter, marking its first profitable quarter since launch.
Consolidated revenue jumped 47.5% year-on-year to KRW 502.1 billion (US$357.0 million) in the third quarter, bringing year-to-date revenue to KRW 1.42 trillion (US$1.01 billion), already surpassing full-year 2023 revenue of KRW 1.37 trillion.
The company's securities unit emerged as a key profit driver, with Toss Securities recording an operating profit of KRW 29.6 billion (US$21.0 million), boosted by growth in international stock trading services.
"We have achieved our highest quarterly revenue along with operating and net profit through balanced growth across Toss services and strong performance from our subsidiaries and affiliates," SG LEE, the CEO, said in a statement.
The fintech platform reported 19.1 million monthly active users, with robust performance across its advertising, payments, and loan brokerage services contributing to the record quarter.
