Trenbe Launches Luxury Goods Auction Service in South Korea
Seoul, South Korea - Trenbe said it has launched an auction service that allows consumers to sell luxury items to retailers through competitive bidding.
The company said the service operates through its mobile application and website, with about 500 luxury retailers participating in bidding processes.
Trenbe said consumers can register items and receive bids over 48 hours.
According to Trenbe, users must upload photographs and product details, including brand, category, condition, and components, through the platform's auction section.
The company said it collects items from successful auctions, conducts authentication checks, and processes payments.
Trenbe attributed the service launch to what it described as existing infrastructure, including a real-time auction system and authentication facilities through the Korea Product Authentication Center.
The company said participating retailers are certified businesses already operating on its platform.
The firm said it aims to establish the consumer-to-business auction model in South Korea's luxury resale market. It also provides opportunities for retailers focused on new merchandise to enter the pre-owned sector.
Trenbe said it plans to expand to Asian markets, including Hong Kong and Indonesia, through multi-language support.
The company partners with global luxury retailers and intends to supply South Korean pre-owned luxury goods internationally.
A company representative said the service would "inject new vitality into the domestic pre-owned luxury market by enabling consumers to easily sell luxury goods through a transparent auction system based on fair competition among sellers."
The representative added that Trenbe plans to "support retailers previously handling only new products to naturally enter the pre-owned luxury market" and "rapidly expand pre-owned luxury business operations."
Trenbe reported achieving profitability in March and April 2025, following what it described as steep operating profit growth beginning in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The company attributed the performance to expansion in pre-owned goods and global business segments.
Trenbe said it plans to make 2025 its first year of sustained profitability through new services and business initiatives.
