Will Smith to Keynote Web Summit Qatar 2025 Tech Conference
Doha, Qatar - Will Smith, Academy Award winner, will deliver a keynote address at Web Summit Qatar 2025, organizers announced on Thursday.
The event will run from February 23-26, 2025, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The technology conference has secured participation from major corporate entities, including Meta, Huawei, Snap, Microsoft, TikTok, Qatar Airways, Snoonu, and Palo Alto Networks.
The speaker roster features prominent business leaders, including Alexis Ohanian, founder of Seven Seven Six and Reddit co-founder; Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook and B Capital; Laura Chambers, CEO of Mozilla Corporation; and Brian Robbins, CEO of Paramount Pictures.
Six hundred global investors will represent the investment community, including Noor Sweid from Global Ventures, Kevin Gasque from Greycroft, Vivek Goyal from Altimeter, Christian Meermann from Cherry Ventures, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Hardan from Qatar Investment Authority, GV Ravishankar from Peak XV, and Amal Dokhan from 500 Global.
The conference expects to host 25,000 attendees, comprising technology and business leaders, founders, and media representatives.
The startup segment has expanded by 50% since its inaugural edition.
It now features 1,500 startups from 90 countries, 46% of which are women-founded enterprises.
The geographical distribution shows 85% international participation and 15% Qatar-based ventures.
Smith, who co-founded the entertainment venture company Westbrook with Jada Pinkett Smith in 2019, will discuss the convergence of media, culture, health, and technology with Jay Shetty on the Centre Stage.
The event forms part of a five-year strategic partnership with the State of Qatar, which aims to position Doha as a global technology hub.
