World ID Launches Passport-Based Digital Identity Verification

San Francisco, CA - Tools for Humanity (TFH) announced on November 29 that it has launched a pilot service for World ID 3.0, introducing passport-based verification capabilities in South Korea, Malaysia, Colombia, and Chile.

The new service, unveiled at the 'a new world' global event on October 17, integrates passport verification into World ID, the world's first privacy-preserving digital identity authentication system.

The pilot program will initially roll out on iOS platforms, with an Android version planned for release soon.

The service aims to enhance accessibility to the World Network and expand the utility of World ID credentials.

Users can link their NFC-enabled passports to the World app, utilizing zero-knowledge proof technology to verify attributes such as age and nationality without revealing personal information.

All data remains stored exclusively on users' devices, with no information shared with TFH, the World Foundation, or third parties.

The World Foundation has confirmed that verified passport holders will be eligible to receive WLD tokens without requiring Orb verification in supported regions.

This implementation significantly advances distinguishing between human and automated bot interactions in digital spaces, addressing growing concerns about online authenticity.
