HANGZHOU, China — Alibaba has released Qwen3.6-Plus, a large language model featuring a 1-million-token context window, autonomous coding capabilities, and multimodal reasoning, the company said.

The model is designed to handle repository-level engineering and front-end website development, and can autonomously plan, test, and iterate code.

According to Alibaba, Qwen3.6-Plus generates front-end code by interpreting visual inputs, including user interface screenshots, hand-drawn wireframes, and product prototypes.

Alibaba will integrate Qwen3.6-Plus into its internal platforms, including the Qwen App and Wukong, an enterprise system that uses multiple artificial intelligence agents for business task automation.

External developers can access the model through Alibaba Cloud’s AI development platform, Model Studio, and the Qwen Chat interface.

The system also supports integration with third-party coding assistants, including OpenClaw, Claude Code, and Cline.

The model’s multimodal functions include high-density document parsing, real-world visual analysis, and long-form video reasoning.

Alibaba said the model is intended for business environments that require multi-step task execution, citing retail intelligence and automated inspections as potential applications.

The company plans to release selected versions of the Qwen3.6 model as open source.
