SEOUL, March 29, 2025 - South Korean local marketplace platform Daangn reported annual revenue of KRW 189.1 billion (US$128.8 million) and operating profit of KRW 37.6 billion (US$25.6 million) for 2024, the company announced on Friday.

The standalone revenue figure increased 48% year over year, while operating profit grew 3.8 times compared to the previous year, marking the company's second consecutive profitable year.

On a consolidated basis, Daangn achieved an operating profit of KRW 2.5 billion (US$1.7 million) and a net profit of KRW 8.4 billion (US$5.7 million) in its first year of consolidated profitability despite investments in global markets, including North America and Japan.

The company attributed its growth primarily to advertising revenue, which increased 48% year-over-year.

According to company data, the number of advertisers rose by 37%, and advertisement placements increased by 52% compared to 2023.

"Last year was significant as we achieved global growth and established a sound financial structure despite challenging economic conditions," said Doyeon Hwang, co-CEO of Daangn.

The platform has diversified its services beyond its original marketplace to include a job recruitment platform, Daangn Alba, a local community service, Daangn Moim, and short-form content, Daangn Story.

Following its initial international launch in 2019, Daangn operates in approximately 1,400 regions across Canada, the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

In February, the company surpassed 2 million registered users in Canada and plans to expand its "Karrot" service throughout North America within five years.

The company reported approximately 43 million cumulative users and nearly 14 million weekly active users.

Hwang stated that the company plans to integrate AI technology into its services in the coming year to continue innovation.
