Seoul, South Korea - Dohands, operator of e-commerce fulfillment service Poomgo, announced Thursday it has opened a fulfillment center on Jeju Island and launched a beta next-day delivery service for the region.

The facility opened in January. The company said the center is intended to reduce delivery times to Jeju, which has faced longer wait periods due to its distance from the mainland.

According to company data, delivery times have been reduced by up to three days compared to mainland-origin shipments.

The next-day delivery rate in Jeju increased from 0.5 percent to 44 percent during the first month of operation.

Orders placed before 3 p.m. were completed the next day at a rate approaching 100 percent.

The service uses Dynamic Allocation technology, which assigns orders to fulfillment centers based on real-time data.

Orders with Jeju delivery addresses are prioritized for the local center.

An artificial intelligence model analyzes order data every 10 minutes, along with weather and economic variables, to forecast shipping volumes.

Chan-jae Park, the company’s chief executive, said the service enables brands to offer fast delivery in Jeju independently of large platform networks.

Park noted Jeju's high reliance on e-commerce and said the company would continue to develop its logistics to support brands seeking growth through fast delivery.

Dohands operates 15 fulfillment centers in Gyeonggi Province, Chungcheong Province and on Jeju Island.

The company is a partner in both the Naver Fulfillment Alliance and the eBay Fulfillment Alliance. It plans to refine operations during the beta phase before an official launch in the second half of 2026.
