SEOUL, South Korea — ElevenLabs, a British artificial intelligence company, announced it has commenced operations in South Korea.

Founded in London in 2022, the company develops AI tools for audio, including text-to-speech, speech-to-text, dubbing, and voice cloning.

According to the company, its models support more than 70 languages.

The company stated its Agent Platform, which combines speech recognition and generation, operates with latency below 500 milliseconds and supports 32 languages and more than 7,000 voices.

According to the company, one undisclosed digital bank customer reduced call handling time by 85 per cent and now automates half of its credit card inquiries.

Deployment reportedly took less than two months. Pickool could not independently verify these figures.

Sangwon Hong has been appointed Korea Country Lead. ElevenLabs stated it is working with MBC C&I, ESTsoft, Krafton, and SBS.

Industry data cited by the company indicates that more than 65 per cent of large South Korean companies use AI, and that nearly two-thirds of workers use generative AI tools daily.

The South Korean government has stated its intention to rank among the top three countries globally for AI development.

The company stated it follows a framework called 3C—consent, control, and compensation—regarding the use of its voice technologies.
