Gangnam Unni App Reaches 1.3M Medical Bookings

Seoul, South Korea - Healing Paper, the operator of the medical appointment platform Gangnam Unni, reported 1.3 million cumulative reservations across South Korea and Japan, including 1 million bookings in South Korea and 300,000 in Japan as of the end of last month.

The platform allows users to schedule appointments at dermatology and plastic surgery clinics using digital scheduling, payment processing, and booking confirmation features.

The reservation system was launched in 2021.

Reservations in South Korea totaled 1 million, doubling from the same month in the previous year. 

The growth rate has remained consistent annually since the system's launch.

The platform in South Korea includes 2,900 dermatology and plastic surgery clinics and 7,000 registered doctors.

Reservations in Japan reached 300,000, reflecting a threefold increase from the previous year. Annual growth rates have maintained this pattern.

Sixty percent of users in Japan use immediate booking confirmation services.

The company attributed the growth to the digitization of appointment booking processes, which previously required telephone calls or in-person consultations.

The system addresses operational issues, including patient no-shows, cancellations, duplicate bookings, and waiting times.

A company representative stated that despite app-based reservation systems being in early adoption phases domestically, the platform exceeded 1 million bookings in Korea and 300,000 in Japan, with continued growth expected.
