NEW YORK, NY - Hyundai Motor Co. reiterated its target of 5.55 million global vehicle sales by 2030 and outlined a $2.7 billion expansion of its U.S. manufacturing operations during an investor presentation on Wednesday.

The company stated that electrified vehicles will account for 3.3 million units of the 2030 sales figure, representing 60% of the total volume.

Hyundai said it expects growth in electrified vehicle sales in North America, Europe, and Korea.

The automaker said it will offer 18 hybrid models and electric vehicles by 2030. The company stated it will enter the mid-size pickup truck and light commercial vehicle segments.

Hyundai announced that it will produce region-specific electric vehicles, including the IONIQ 3 for Europe, an electric vehicle tailored for India, and models called Elexio and an electric sedan for China.

The company said Extended Range Electric Vehicle models will launch from 2027 with a driving range exceeding 600 miles.

The U.S. expansion involves the Hyundai Motor Group's Metaplant America facility, where the company stated that the investment will add 200,000 units of production capacity by 2028 and create approximately 3,000 jobs.

Hyundai said global manufacturing expansion will target 1.2 million additional units across facilities worldwide.

The company stated that it will implement battery technology, including a cloud-based battery management system, starting in 2026.

Hyundai said its Software-Defined Vehicle platform will utilize the High-Performance Vehicle Computer architecture for software updates, personalized features, and artificial intelligence-driven mobility services.

Genesis will offer Extended-Range Electric Vehicle, hybrid, and battery electric vehicle powertrains across its model range, including a flagship sport utility vehicle, the company said. Genesis targets 350,000 annual sales by 2030, according to Hyundai.

José Muñoz, President and Chief Executive of Hyundai Motor Company, said the company aims to adapt to industry changes through product development, manufacturing flexibility, technology, dealer partnerships, and global scale.

Hyundai has updated its 2025 financial guidance to include 5-6 percent revenue growth and a 6-7 percent operating profit margin. The company plans to invest KRW 77.3 trillion through 2030.

The presentation took place in New York, marking the first time Hyundai has held such an event outside South Korea.

The company stated that the event communicated its strategy, which focuses on product expansion, manufacturing, and technology.
