Hyundai Motor Wins CES Award for MobED Robot Platform

LAS VEGAS, NV - Hyundai Motor Company said on Monday it received the Best of Innovation Award in the Robotics category at CES 2026 for a mobile platform developed by its Robotics LAB division.

The platform, MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid), is a wheeled device for industrial and commercial use. 

Hyundai Motor said this is its first Best of Innovation award at CES. The designation is given to the highest-rated product in each category.

MobED uses Drive and Lift technology for operation on uneven surfaces, inclines, and curbs, the company said. 

The platform was shown at the International Robot Exhibition 2025 in Tokyo in December 2025.

Two versions are in production. MobED Basic operates via a controller. 

MobED Pro includes LiDAR-camera fusion sensors and AI-based algorithms for autonomous operation, according to Hyundai Motor.

The company listed applications including logistics, broadcasting, guidance services, and digital signage. 

The design allows for different modules to be mounted on top.

Dong Jin Hyun, vice president and head of Hyundai Motor Group's Robotics LAB, said MobED was shown as a concept at CES 2022. 

Mass production of both models will begin in the first quarter of 2026, the company said.

The platform is displayed at Hyundai Motor's booth at CES 2026. The show runs through Jan. 10 in Las Vegas.

The Consumer Technology Association administers the CES Innovation Awards program.
