Munich, Germany / Seoul, South Korea - Hyundai Motor Co. displayed its Concept THREE compact electric vehicle at the IAA Mobility 2025 exhibition in Munich.

The vehicle represents the company's first compact electric concept under its IONIQ sub-brand.

The concept vehicle is part of Hyundai's stated plan to offer an electrified version of every model in Europe by 2027.

The company said it will introduce 21 electric vehicle models globally by 2030.

Hyundai said the Concept THREE signals its planned expansion into what it termed the European compact electric vehicle market.

The company stated that Europe is experiencing demand for compact electric vehicles due to urbanization, sustainability regulations, and space-efficient solutions.

The concept features the company's "Art of Steel" design language and "Parametric Pixel" lighting on the front and rear sections.

It features an "Aero Hatch" profile, which the company claims is designed to enhance aerodynamic efficiency, and a vertical tailgate. Interior materials include textiles made from ocean waste and lightweight aluminum foam."

Xavier Martinet, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe, described Concept THREE as a further development in the company's electrification plans, according to company statements.

Hyundai returned to the IAA Mobility exhibition after a four-year absence.

The company constructed a 58-meter-wide, seven-meter-tall booth in Munich's city center featuring six glass elements based on its Parametric Pixel design.

The automaker displayed seven electrified models at the event: KONA Electric, IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6 N, IONIQ 9, IONIQ 7, Concept THREE, and INSTEROID.

The company offered test drives for nine models during the exhibition.

Exhibition organizers expect 750 exhibitors and over 500,000 visitors from 110 countries to attend the event.

Hyundai stated that nearly 80 percent of its vehicles sold in Europe are manufactured locally.

The company announced plans to transition its European production facilities to renewable energy and increase the use of recycled materials in vehicle designs.

The Concept THREE includes what Hyundai termed "Bring Your Own Lifestyle" modular widgets for customization and features a character called "Mr. Pix" integrated in the design.

The company stated that it will advance hydrogen fuel cell technology in tandem with its electric vehicle development.

The IAA Mobility event spans Munich's exhibition facilities and city center locations, according to organizers.
