Kakao Expands AI Agent 'Kakao Tools' With External Partners

Seoul, South Korea - Kakao Corp said Wednesday it had expanded “Kakao Tools,” an AI agent service within its “ChatGPT for Kakao” platform, to include third-party services and additional company affiliates.

According to the company, the service now includes external partners such as Olive Young, Musinsa, Hyundai Department Store, Samjeomsam, MyRealTrip, Saramin, and Woorie Table.

Kakao Bank and Kakao Golf Reservation have also been integrated. Kakao Tools previously offered access to the company’s own services, including Kakao Map, Kakao Pay, Kakao T, and Melon.

The platform allows users to enter requests in the chat interface—for example, asking for sunscreen recommendations for dry skin—and provides results sourced from participating services.

"We plan to continue expanding the AI agent ecosystem to improve user convenience," Yoo Yong-ha, Kakao’s AI Connect Performance Leader, said in a statement.

Kakao stated that the platform can address queries across various sectors, including beauty, fashion, retail, tax, travel, employment, and food.

The company also introduced changes to the user interface.

A newly added "Home" menu displays popular charts and recommended services, while a "MY" menu enables users to add or remove services.
