Kmong Launches AI Search Assistant to Streamline Freelancer Selection
Seoul, South Korea—South Korean freelance marketplace Kmong announced on Friday that it has launched an AI-powered search assistant named "k.ai" to enhance its expert recommendation capabilities.
The new system combines large language model (LLM) technology with semantic search capabilities to analyze client requirements and match them with suitable professionals from Kmong's extensive freelancer network.
The platform's AI assistant enables users to compare up to three service offerings, including condensed information and pricing details, streamlining the selection process for potential clients.
Initial beta testing in the platform's design category has shown promising results, reducing inquiry processing times by up to 80%.
The company reported that new customers using the AI assistant demonstrated higher conversion rates, up to six times higher than those using traditional search methods.
"We expect AI search to make the process of trading intangible expertise more convenient," said Kmong co-CEO Kim Tae-heon, adding that the company will continue its efforts to realize its "human cloud" vision through technological integration.
Kmong officially plans to launch k.ai across its platform in 2025.
The marketplace offers over 500,000 expert services across 700 categories, including design, marketing, IT programming, and video production.
