Singapore - Sony Group's blockchain subsidiaries announced the launch of their public blockchain mainnet, "Soneium," alongside an updated crypto-asset exchange service and NFT platform.

The initiative involves three Sony blockchain companies: Sony Block Solutions Labs Pte. Ltd., S.BLOX Inc., and SNFT Inc.

The Soneium blockchain, which follows its testnet phase "Soneium Minato," has recorded over 14 million accounts and 47 million transactions.

The testnet featured 32 projects selected from more than 1,700 applications through its "Soneium Spark" incubation program, which began in September 2024.

S.BLOX Corporation announced a rebranded version of its "WhaleFin" platform, now named "S.BLOX," which will operate exclusively in Japan.

The company offers Bitcoin worth 3,000 yen for new accounts and trading activities.

In February, it plans to launch an NFT distribution campaign with "Ghost in the Shell."

SNFT Inc. will introduce a Fan Marketing Platform in February 2025.

The platform will feature an integrated web-based wallet with social login capabilities.

It will enable companies to issue NFTs and analyze fan engagement metrics.

Sony Group will conduct demonstration experiments with its entertainment divisions starting mid-January 2025.

These include NFT initiatives by Sony Pictures Entertainment (Japan) Inc., Sony Music Entertainment France, and Sony Music Publishing (Japan) Inc.

Sony Block Solutions Labs Pte. Ltd., established in October 2023 with 1,000,000 Singapore dollars in capital, operates under Chairman Jun Watanabe.

The company, formerly Sony Network Communications Labs Pte. Ltd., rebranded in August 2024.
