Seoul, South Korea - KREAM reported that transactions of refurbished technology products increased by 63% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the fourth quarter of 2024.

The company's refurbished technology service, launched in July 2024, saw its monthly Net Merchandise Value double in the first three months of 2025 compared to previous periods, reaching a quarter of what had taken six months to achieve following the initial launch.

KREAM operates the service on a business-to-consumer model, selecting used devices that do not have a third-party repair history.

The company subjects each device to functional testing and data removal before categorizing them into three quality grades.

The service initially began with smartphones and has since expanded to include tablets, laptops, and smartwatches.

The company reported that these additional product categories have a 90% monthly depletion rate of inventory.

The company stated that macroeconomic conditions, including inflation and exchange rates, have increased demand for the service, particularly among younger consumers seeking more affordable alternatives to new products.

The demand for KREAM's services has also been growing among younger consumers.

KREAM has updated its valuation feature to provide an estimated selling price in response to this demand.

The company has increased its purchase prices and plans to expand the types of devices it will buy.

According to the company statement, the platform currently offers Apple and Samsung products and intends to include additional brands in the first half of this year.
