Taipei, Taiwan - LINE Pay Taiwan Limited, a subsidiary of Japan's LY Corporation, presented its strategic plans for 2025 and 2026 on Monday, reporting that its user base has reached 13.6 million, or approximately half of Taiwan's population.

Cumulative transaction volume through November 2025 exceeded NTD 791 billion (US$25.2 billion), with revenue of NTD 7.15 billion (US$228 million), representing a 26 percent increase from the previous year, according to the company.

Operating profit for the third quarter of 2025 was NTD 496 million (US$15.8 million).

LINE Pay Taiwan recently received an Electronic Payment Institution license from Taiwanese regulators.

On December 3, the company launched a service called LINE Pay Money, which reportedly attracted 1 million registered users within 70 hours.

The company reported that 20.9 million bank cards are currently linked to its platform, representing approximately one-third of all cards in circulation in Taiwan.

These announcements were made at the LINE Pay Vision Day 2025 event.

The company introduced a set of artificial intelligence tools for merchants, including automated transaction analysis, voice-summarized sales reports, and a feature generating promotional suggestions based on historical spending data.

An augmented reality feature was also introduced, allowing users to overlay merchant information and promotions onto real-world street views using a smartphone camera.

The service began in Taipei in late 2025 and is scheduled to expand across Taiwan in 2026.

LINE Pay Taiwan reported 300,000 users and 80,000 payment locations, with overseas transaction volume projected to reach NTD 1.5 billion (US$47.8 million) for 2025.

Jeong Woong-ju, chairman and chief executive, stated that the company’s listing on the Taiwan Stock Exchange and acquisition of the EPI license established the foundation for a comprehensive payment platform.

The company also announced the launch of an advertising product that uses game-like mechanics to direct users to physical retail locations.
