TOKYO, Japan - LINE WORKS led Japan's paid business messenger market in 2023 with a 41% share for the seventh consecutive year, per Fuji Chimera and Naver Cloud Platform.

Propelled by innovation, the South Korean company saw annual revenue soar by around 40% for its business messaging service, with recurring revenue surging to 16 billion yen as of July 2025.

These impressive achievements were celebrated at a special press conference marking LINE WORKS' 10th anniversary in Japan.

LINE WORKS has added AI-powered features, including AiNote for convenient voice recording and quick transcription, Roger for fast and accurate voice-to-text conversion, AiCall for providing automated responses to routine inquiries, Vision for real-time cloud camera analysis to enhance security monitoring, and optical character recognition functions to streamline data entry and document management, according to the company.

Naver Cloud Platform stated plans to introduce an "AI agent" function designed to automatically analyze and process repetitive tasks from messaging, email, and calendar data, helping businesses reduce manual workloads and enhance productivity.

The company has agreed with Izumo City in Shimane Prefecture to deploy CareCall, an AI-powered service designed to enhance efficiency and consistency in welfare telephone checks.

Naver Cloud Platform described this as the first AI application in Japan to replace manual telephone welfare checks by social workers, freeing them for more meaningful social interventions and improving service reach.

"CareCall and LINE WORKS are both revolutionizing actual work by applying AI technology to fields where digitalization has been slow," said Kim Yoo-won, Naver Cloud Platform's chief executive.

Kim also said the company is considering international expansion based on its Japanese operations.

The executive emphasized that AI technology should evolve beyond mere technological competition to address pressing social issues, such as improving access to care and enhancing workforce efficiency.

Naver Cloud Platform provides cloud computing and partners with Geopi and Clucus on gaming industry projects in Japan.

The company reported developing smart building solutions that combine digital twin, robotics, and cloud technologies through collaboration with Naver Labs.

LINE WORKS was tailored specifically for Japan's unique workforce, where field workers in sales and retail outnumber office-based staff, ensuring the platform meets the real business needs of these professionals.

"Solving social challenges that each country faces through technology is the ultimate direction that Naver Cloud Platform aims for through B2B, and it is the philosophy of what we call 'Sovereign AI.' Our focus is on driving measurable improvements in society, from social welfare to workforce transformation," Kim said.
