LY Corp Launches AI Game Creator for Elementary Kids
TOKYO, Japan - LINE Yahoo Corp. launched an AI game creation platform for children on Friday, allowing elementary school students to design games while learning about generative AI in an easy-to-use manner.
The platform, "AI Game Creator," available on Yahoo! Kids, allows students in grades three through six to create their games and explore generative AI in a hands-on manner.
The system offers five game types, including whack-a-mole, memory games, and tic-tac-toe.
LINE Yahoo surveyed 1,000 parents from June 30 to July 1 through Yahoo! Crowdsourcing.
The survey found that approximately 60 percent of parents aged 20 to 50 responded positively when asked whether they wanted their children to use generative AI.
Over 60 percent supported introducing AI learning in schools and homes.
The same survey identified concerns among parents.
The most frequently cited issue was anxiety about children believing misinformation, followed by concerns about a decline in children's thinking and creative abilities.
Parents also reported uncertainty about proper usage methods and teaching approaches.
The platform displays five sample games and shows the prompts used to create them.
Users can modify existing prompts or create new games from scratch.
The system features illustrated explanations of AI mechanisms and prompt writing methods, distinguishing itself by encouraging hands-on learning and transparency for young users.
LINE Yahoo sets usage limits of 10 games per day and blocks access during nighttime hours.
