SEONGNAM, South KoreaNaver Corp (KRX: 035420) announced Monday that its streaming platform Chzzk saw a significant increase in user engagement last year and plans to expand through major sports broadcasting and integrated e-commerce features.

At a partner meeting held at Naver's 1784 headquarters, the company said total watch time reached 51 billion minutes last year, up 28 percent from 2024.

Chat messages on the platform grew 37 percent to more than 4 billion.

The platform recorded a peak concurrent viewership of 760,000 during the League of Legends World Championship in November.

Chzzk introduced several features last year, including a "Live Time Machine" replay function, a radio-only mode, and a TV application.

This year, Naver plans to broadcast major sporting events, including the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics in February, the FIFA World Cup, the Esports World Cup, and the League of Legends Champions Korea.

The company said it will integrate these broadcasts with its main portal app.

The company plans to launch a "Streamer Shop" feature in February.

This feature will allow creators to link their Naver Smart Store accounts directly to their streaming channels, enabling real-time merchandise sales and automated purchase notifications.

To incentivize early adoption, the company is offering a 20% discount on production costs for custom-made goods.

The company said it expects to announce additional revenue-sharing programs for streamers later this year.
