Seoul, South Korea - NAVER Cloud Platform reported that three artificial intelligence models it released last month have been downloaded more than 300,000 times from the Hugging Face platform.

The HyperCLOVA X SEED models were made available on April 24, according to the company's statement.

The downloads represent approximately 0.03 percent of all models on the global AI repository.

Of the three models, HyperCLOVA X SEED 3B recorded 267,000 downloads.

The company described this model as capable of processing text, images, and video data.

The remaining two models, designated 1.5B and 0.5B, recorded 35,000 downloads combined.

NAVER Cloud Platform stated that the 3B model scored higher than unspecified models from U.S. and Chinese companies across nine benchmark tests.

The company did not identify the competing models or provide specific performance metrics.

According to the company, the benchmarks included VideoMME, NAVER-TV-CLIP, VideoChatGPT, Perception Test, ActivityNet-QA, KoNet, MMBench-Val, TextVQA-Val, and Korean VisIT-Bench.

The company reported that community users had created 29 derivative versions of the two smaller models.

NAVER Cloud Platform cited user comments, noting that the models can operate using one gigabyte of RAM.

"We are honored that generative AI models developed by Team NAVER from scratch are gaining attention in the global open-source community," said Sung Nakho, who oversees AI technology at NAVER Cloud Platform. He stated that the company expects the models to contribute to AI ecosystem diversity.

The company announced plans to release additional models.

According to the statement, a reasoning model will be introduced through its CLOVA X service in June.

Voice-enabled services using the technology are planned for future release.
