Seoul, South Korea - NAVER Cloud announced on Thursday that its CLOVA Speech service has completed the Financial Security Institute's Cloud Service Provider safety assessment, becoming the first speech-to-text service to pass the evaluation required for deployment in the financial sector.

The assessment establishes security compliance standards for cloud-based artificial intelligence services entering South Korea's financial industry.

The evaluation process requires data center redundancy systems, automated service failure recovery capabilities, service resource change history management, and measures to protect personal information.

Korea Investment & Securities began using CLOVA Speech for sales monitoring operations at branch offices following the service's certification, according to NAVER Cloud Platform.

The speech-to-text service reports recognition rates exceeding 90 percent in indoor, vehicle, and telephone environments.

Applications include call center consultation record management, financial fraud monitoring, and automated subtitle generation for financial education content.

The service also supports meeting transcription, recording public agency civil complaints, media subtitling, archiving business information, and customer service operations.

The platform operates through console-based interfaces with scalable implementation options.

A NAVER Cloud representative stated that CLOVA Speech is the first speech-to-text service in Korea to pass the Financial Security Institute's evaluation, and said the result demonstrates the platform's security and safety features.

The company indicated that it expects the certification to support broader adoption of artificial intelligence in the financial sector and other industries.

The Financial Security Institute evaluation addresses security requirements for financial institutions that handle sensitive customer information through cloud-based services.
