Taipei, Taiwan—Naver Cloud Platform announced a partnership with Thai AI company SIAM.AI Cloud to develop Thai-language large language models.

It also confirmed that senior executives discussed with NVIDIA Chief Executive Jensen Huang during a Taiwan business trip.

The partnership agreement was signed at the NVIDIA Cloud Partner Summit in Taiwan, where Naver Cloud Platform and SIAM.AI Cloud participated as the sole representatives from South Korea and Thailand, respectively.

The collaboration targets the development of Thai-language specialized large-language models for commercial deployment by the end of 2025.

The companies will combine Naver Cloud Platform's experience building large language models with SIAM.AI Cloud's Thai-language data resources and GPU infrastructure.

Initial development will focus on tourism-focused AI agents that address high demand within Thailand's market, with subsequent expansion planned across the healthcare, public services, and academic sectors.

Naver Cloud Platform will share technical capabilities to enable Thailand to independently develop and operate AI models.

The Korean firm described the arrangement as providing countries seeking sovereign AI development with potential strategic directions.

Lee Hae-jin, Chairman of Naver's Board of Directors, and Choi Soo-yeon, Chief Executive of Naver Corporation, attended the signing ceremony.

These executives participated in discussions with NVIDIA leadership regarding sovereign AI construction and large-scale AI data center business expansion strategies.

Naver confirmed that its senior management team, including Lee Hae-jin, Choi Soo-yeon, and Naver Cloud Platform Chief Executive Kim Yu-won, conducted a dedicated meeting with Jensen Huang at NVIDIA's Taiwan office.

The discussions covered sovereign AI development initiatives and data center expansion plans, according to company statements.

Kim Yu-won characterized the Thai partnership as extending beyond basic model development.

Kim stated that the collaboration aims to support Thailand in acquiring technical capabilities for domestic AI model development and operation, noting that this approach could guide countries establishing independent AI ecosystems.

Kim added that the Naver Cloud Platform maintains capabilities across AI services, data management, AI infrastructure, supercomputing systems, cloud services, and data centers, enabling customized solutions for sovereign AI requirements.

The South Korean company has collaborated with NVIDIA on sovereign AI initiatives since 2024, describing the Thai partnership as a concrete implementation of those strategic discussions.

SIAM.AI Cloud is a leading entity in Thailand's AI transformation efforts.

During the Taiwan visit, Naver executives met with regional partners, including Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan's largest telecommunications operator, to explore Southeast Asian and global market expansion opportunities.

The partnership reflects Naver Cloud Platform's strategy to accelerate market entry across Southeast Asia through collaboration with local partners capable of sovereign AI implementation across large language models, infrastructure, and applications.
