SEOUL, South Korea - Naver Cloud Corp announced on Monday that it released two artificial intelligence models under a Ministry of Science and ICT foundation model development program.

The company disclosed HyperCLOVA X SEED 8B Omni and HyperCLOVA X SEED 32B Think as open-source models.

Naver Cloud is the lead operator for the ministry’s Independent AI Foundation Model project.

The 8B Omni model processes text, images, and audio in a single model structure.

This represents the company’s first application of native omnimodal architecture. The model includes text-based image generation and editing functions.

The 32B Think model combines reasoning functions with capabilities for visual, voice, and tool usage.

The model’s performance on a composite index from Artificial Analysis, which aggregates 10 benchmarks, was within the range of global AI models.

The model achieved Grade 1 scores on South Korean college entrance examination questions in the Korean language, mathematics, English and Korean history, with maximum scores in English and Korean history.

The model processed questions through image input.

Sung Nak-ho, Technical Director of HyperScale AI at Naver Cloud, stated the company would expand model scale following methodology validation.

Data beyond internet documents and images would be required for broader problem-solving capabilities.

The company will acquire real-world context data, including non-digitized information and geographically specific data.

Naver Cloud plans to develop specialized omnimodal models for industrial and daily applications.
