Tokyo, Japan - Naver Corp held a program in Tokyo for 14 e-commerce merchants on Oct. 17-18, the company said Tuesday.

The merchants are part of Naver's Round-Up League, which started in July.

The merchants sell products including coffee, pet food, baby items, and household goods on Naver's Smart Store platform, according to the company.

The program included visits to retail locations, LaLaport, and Viva Home.

Representatives from Qoo10, MXN Japan, Amazon Japan, Aeon Mall, and Xexymix Japan gave presentations, Naver said.

A product display at LINE Works' Shibuya office had approximately 350 attendees, the company said.

Han-woo Choi of MXN Japan stated that Japanese consumer culture emphasizes trust and long-term relationships.

Soo-han Koo of Fitable said the company observed demand for brown-toned furniture.

Soo-ho Cho of Balop said the company identified demand for functional footwear.

Min-seo Kim of Neuldam said Japanese participants recognized a product name. Sung-joon Park of Maranghani said the company gathered information about social media usage.

Thirteen brands from the program plan to enter Japan, Southeast Asia, and the United States, Naver said. Kyung-ryul Lee of Naver said the program targets merchants with sales records on Smart Store.
