Naver Launches Beta Conversational Shopping AI Agent

Naver Corp. releases Version 1.0 of its Shopping AI Agent on the Naver Plus Store app, featuring a commerce-specific LLM for product comparison and recommendations.

SEOUL, South Korea — Naver Corp. on Thursday announced the release of a beta version of an artificial intelligence shopping agent on its Naver Plus Store application.

The agent uses a large language model designed for commerce to automate product search, comparison, and review analysis.

The agent operates through keyword searches and utilizes purchase history and product specifications to generate recommendations.

It also allows users to input additional information, such as household size, through a conversational interface to refine search results.

The beta version currently includes digital, home living, and lifestyle product categories.

According to Naver, the company plans to expand the service to beauty and food categories by the first half of 2026.

Future updates are expected to include real-time trend analysis, automated product recommendations, and cart management.

The system employs separate sub-agents for each stage of the shopping process, selecting between proprietary and third-party AI models depending on the task.

The service operates on an internal model, referred to by Naver as Shopping Intelligence, which is trained on company data related to pricing, logistics, product attributes, and user behavior.

Soo Yeon, CEO of Naver, stated that the agent is intended to manage the entire shopping process.

The company also plans to integrate commerce, content, and data into a larger AI platform.
