Seoul, South Korea — Naver Corp. on Wednesday launched a new commerce platform designed to connect content creators with online merchants through commission-based product sales.

Naver stated that the Shopping Connect platform enables Smart Store sellers to collaborate with content creators for product promotion, with revenue shared according to sales performance.

Merchants set commission rates and select products for promotion, while creators can review compensation terms prior to participation, according to the company.

The platform completed beta testing between April and June. During this period, Naver reported that 520,000 products were added to the service, and some creators earned more than 100 million won.

According to Naver, beta testing coincided with increased activity on its Brand Connect platform, with partnership campaign registrations rising 270% and creator payments increasing by more than 670%.

Following the official launch, all Smart Store merchants have access to the service. The platform includes creators from Naver’s blog, Clip video service, and Chzzk streaming platform.

Naver provides dashboard tools for transaction tracking and performance analysis. The company stated that adding Shopping Connect functionality to its Clip service in May resulted in a fourfold increase in platform traffic in June.

“Shopping Connect allows creators to select product links that align with their channel’s content and generate additional revenue,” said Sunmin Kim, Brand Connect Planning Leader at Naver.

Kim added that Naver plans to expand support for merchants and creators, drawing on the company’s experience with user-generated content and commerce services developed over the past decade.

The company announced a promotional campaign that offers up to 30,000 Naver Pay points for completing platform tasks, with an additional one million points available depending on sales performance.

The launch extends access to all Smart Store sellers and creators with social media channels, with additional commission support available during the initial period.
