SEOUL, South Korea — Naver Corp has added a booking feature to its mapping application, according to a company statement released Monday.

The new reservations tab allows users to book restaurants, leisure activities, experiential classes, travel packages, and airline tickets through the Naver Maps mobile application, according to a company statement.

The feature aggregates booking options that support Naver's reservation system.

Naver Maps has recorded 30 million monthly active users, the company said.

The application has reorganized its interface into five tabs: Discovery, Reservations, Public Transit, Navigation, and Saved. The update began distribution on November 10.

The reservations section provides schedule notifications and location recommendations following bookings, the company said.

A search function within the reservations tab allows users to locate venues that accept bookings through Naver's system.

Sixty-two percent of Naver Maps users are millennials or Generation Z, the company stated.

The booking tab was introduced to provide users with access to discovery, reservations, and promotions through the mapping application, according to the company.

The application offers content in English, Chinese, and Japanese for international visitors to South Korea, including restaurant bookings and tourist packages, according to the statement.

Naver Maps has previously deployed indoor augmented reality navigation and Flying View 3D, which renders three-dimensional city views.

The platform includes a Discovery tab that displays trending locations and personalized recommendations, according to the company.

Naver Maps will continue developing as a platform connecting online and offline experiences, according to the company.

The company updated its brand identity in conjunction with the launch of the reservations tab, the statement said.
