SEONGNAM, South Korea - Naver Corp. and Nexon Co., Ltd. signed a business agreement on Wednesday to link their platforms, the companies said.

The agreement was signed at Naver’s facility in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Naver Chief Executive Choi Soo-yeon and Nexon co-Chief Executive Kang Dae-hyun were present, the companies said in a joint statement.

As part of the arrangement, Nexon will incorporate Naver’s login system into its services. Naver Pay will be introduced as a payment method for Nexon Cash, the companies stated.

Gaming content is expected to be featured on Naver’s PC and mobile platforms. The companies indicated they are considering the use of artificial intelligence to generate highlight clips from live gaming video.

Nexon games will be broadcast on Chzzk, Naver’s streaming platform, for tournaments and events.

Discussions are underway regarding the addition of streaming buttons in Nexon titles that would connect to Chzzk, as well as similar features that would allow users to launch Nexon games directly from Chzzk.

Merchandise sales and Naver’s booking service are expected to be utilized at in-person tournaments, according to the companies.

Naver holds broadcasting rights for World Cup and Olympic events from 2025 to 2032.

The companies said they plan to conduct joint marketing activities that combine these rights with Nexon’s sports game titles.

Choi stated that Naver is seeking to strengthen its partnerships in the gaming sector following its focus on over-the-top media and mobility services.

Kang said the companies intend to work closely on developing services.

According to Naver, Chzzk offers co-viewing features and operates MotionStage, a studio for producing 3D content.
