Naver to Upgrade AI Assistant with Image Processing Capabilities
Seoul, South Korea—Naver Corp (035420. KS) announced on Thursday that it will enhance its AI assistant CLOVA X with image processing abilities in an upcoming service update on August 27.
The upgrade will allow CLOVA X to analyze and interpret visual information from uploaded images, expanding its functionality beyond text-based interactions.
Users can converse with the AI about image content, including descriptions and situation inferences.
Naver reported that CLOVA X demonstrated an 84% accuracy rate when solving 1,480 questions from South Korean school qualification exams in image format, surpassing OpenAI's GPT-4, which was 78%.
On August 20, the company also revealed developments in voice AI technology based on its HyperCLOVA X large language model (LLM) through its official blog.
This technology improves language structure, pronunciation accuracy, and emotional expression in AI-generated speech.
Naver plans to integrate these advanced capabilities into various services, including real-time voice translation and language learning applications.
The company also intends to offer enterprise AI solutions to expand the HyperCLOVA X ecosystem.
