Naver's Kurly N Mart Transaction Volume Jumps 50% in First Month.

Naver's joint grocery service with Kurly sees 50% monthly growth, driven by loyalty program members. Livestock and baby food sales surge.

SEOUL, South Korea — Naver Corp. said Tuesday that transaction volume for "Kurly N Mart," an online grocery service operated with e-commerce platform Kurly, increased 50 percent in October compared with September.

The service, which launched in September, uses Kurly’s logistics infrastructure.

According to company data, more than 80 percent of users in October were Naver Plus Membership subscribers.

Naver said the repurchase rate for members was approximately twice that of non-members.

The company said the proportion of users who made 5 or more purchases was 15 times higher among subscribers than among non-subscribers.

According to company data, 70 percent of users were in their 30s and 40s. Livestock, frozen and convenience foods, and produce accounted for the highest transaction volumes.

Egg sales increased 2.3 times and beef sales 1.9 times from the previous month, the company said.

Transactions in baby food and baby snacks rose threefold and twofold, respectively.

Naver added a “Frequent Purchase” tab on Nov. 4.
