S. Korea's Daangn (Karrot) Adds AI Voice Reviews

Seoul, South Korea - Local community platform Daangn, also known as Karrot, introduced an artificial intelligence-powered voice-to-text review feature for neighborhood businesses on Wednesday.

The "Speak to Write" function enables users to dictate reviews through an AI interface.

The system prompts users with questions regarding a business's atmosphere, service, and items purchased, and subsequently converts their responses into formatted text reviews.

The feature is available via the application's "Neighborhood Map" tab on individual business profiles.

Daangn deployed the feature across all business categories after a beta phase in January. During this period, the feature reached a 43 percent usage rate.

According to the company, internal metrics measuring review quality — specifically independence, specificity, and reliability — increased by 40 percent compared to standard text entries.

Completed reviews are published on the platform's mapping service, which displays user-submitted records by geographic location.

A company representative stated that the tool is intended to increase the specificity of user reviews and enhance their informational value for neighborhood residents.
