Seoul, South Korea - Samsung Electronics announced a software update Wednesday for its Galaxy XR headset, adding Android Enterprise support and committing to up to five years of software and security updates for the device.

The firmware update integrates Android Enterprise into the Android XR platform, which launched in October 2025.

The integration gives organizations management tools for corporate-owned deployments, including zero-touch enrollment, QR code setup, and Device Policy Controller provisioning.

IT administrators can manage enterprise applications through Managed Google Play, establish password policies, configure network settings, and execute remote lock or wipe commands.

The system uses Samsung Knox to meet enterprise compliance and data security standards.

James Choi, executive vice president and head of the XR R&D Team at Samsung's Mobile eXperience Business, said the update is intended to build a secure and scalable ecosystem based on user feedback.

David Still, vice president of product and engineering for Android Enterprise at Google, said the expansion brings a standardized security and management framework to spatial computing.

The firmware release also includes consumer-facing usability changes.

New features include customizable virtual keyboard positioning and a desktop session restore function that automatically reopens up to three previously used applications in their prior layout upon reboot.

Accessibility additions include single eye tracking and pointer customization.

The update also introduces an on-screen guide for aligning content on physical walls and an Auto Spatialization feature in Google Chrome and YouTube that converts 2D content into 3D photos and videos.
